a "search" vehicle for your time. So I got a LinkedIn message today about a job opening. I guess it was mass email but they were impressed that I called and with my experience. It sounds like I may be a bit over qualified for their initial plan but they are interested in talking more.

SO heres where I need help. I'm redoing my resume and I was wondering if people have ever included images within thier resume. Obviously this isn;t for the financial find (although people might like picturers of piles of money) I'm in architecture. I was thinking of having a photo/rendering/drawing after each entry. Before, I would send out a resume and a separate couple of sheets with work samples. I thought this new way could be a way to consolidate some of the stuff and make for a better read. Basically everyone likes a picture book, its kinda like that but in a 2 or 3 page resume. what do you guys think?

Never include a picture with a resume. If they ask for a portfolio, that's where the pictures go. A resume is more of a quick glance than an in depth look.

dont do it. resumes are just that,. resume. Now, if you want to attach a portfolio to it, thats a different story

Almost all of my friends that have landed creative gigs have images in their resumes. One of my friend's "resume" is actually a book.
As long as it's executed well, it absolutely won't hurt, and more than likely it will lead you to getting interviews that you wouldn't have necessarily been invited for otherwise.*
*Qualifications for that last statement - the last 6 interviews I went to I was specifically told it was due to the graphic nature of my resume.

thats kinda what I was thinking. its going to stand out, and a special layout is going to say more than just words on a page.

Don't do it. You have to be very careful about what you put in your resume these days since most resumes are run though a computer program that looks for specific keywords and such. I have read about how many of these programs will do crazy things when presented with anything other than plain text. One program was rejecting tens of thousands of resumes because it would interpret a solid line (which every resume of mine, until recently, had under my name/contact info) as the "end" of the document.
